I think they should have had a lifeguard and a barber. At least we know the barber could have cut the lifeguard's hair after the song was done.

+Timbrock1000 Actually, all of the Anything Muppets (AM)/Whatnots come in various colors and have different eyes, noses, hair (or lack thereof), and clothes. The lifeguard is just a green AM/Whatnot with a round pink nose and a blond bob hairdo, wearing a swimsuit, hat, sunglasses, and whistle. She's performed by Fran Brill (who also performs Prairie Dawn and Zoe).+jeopardy60611 In the older days of Sesame Street, the cast and crew - both Muppet and human - could afford to make some adult jokes. Even after the show changed its format, Fran Brill - per interviews she's given - admitted that she and Frank Oz were known for being raunchy on-set when the cameras weren't rolling. For example, according to Fran, Prairie Dawn's underwear is listed with the days of the week, so that if Frank Oz forgot what day it was when they were together performing a Prairie Dawn & Cookie Monster skit, he'd simply have Cookie cheekily lift Prairie's dress and read what day it was. I hope Linda doesn't find out Bob was hittin' on that cute lifeguard. You know, blowing her whistle and all...

Somehow I think Bob should have been slapped for grabbing the whistle by her chest. :-) Now that I'm watching these Neighborhood clips when I'm grown up, I appreciate the occupational humor they throw in it. "My wife told me to make the bed, but I didn't have enough lumber."

@antsamthompson9 Yeah 'cause sometimes Jim and Rick sound alike, can you imagine Rick as the carpenter? Bob: Are you the carpenter? Rick(in a nasally voice, similar to Jim's): You hit the nail on the head! Bob: Wait a minute, didn't Jim tell that corny joke too? Rick:Yes he did, deja vu? Bob:Rick, are you a good carpenter? Rick: Never saw better Bob: Just sing!

@muppetlover16 I think so.

@antsamthompson9 Likewise, she is cute for a Muppet anyways...and as I said the carpenter looks like Rick Lyon they should've had Rick play him instead of Jim, but seeing as this was made in 1977, they'd have to wait ten years until he came on board but imagine if this were made in 1987 when Rick joined the troupe, Rick's version of the carpenter would've sounded like Jim's, don't you think?

@muppetlover16 I agree.

@antsamthompson9 The lifeguard is cute! and the carpenter looks like Rick Lyon with his mustache and glasses, plus I think the lifeguard might be Ernie's mom, Jane in her younger years

@muppetfan33 And yet they're so bad, they're actually good. It isn't easy to write jokes like that.

I bet Bob was thinking: "Forget 'The Electric Company'. Who's the dummy writing THIS show?"
