So I'm apparently the only one who got nightmares from this part as a kid. I would have these awful dreams where I was in an art museum or something with Elmo and Maria and there were all sorts of paintings and sculptures that looked like this skit. Except for some reason, a lot of them contained sawblades and were very dangerous to get near, but Elmo INSISTED on playing on them.Usually Grover or Telly Monster died in the middle of the dream (killed by one of those sawblade machines) and then there was a giant painting that was a collage tribute to them.I think it was the high contrast on everything... I knew it didn't look "right" but I couldn't quite place why because I was so little.

I used to have a Sesame Street read along tape with the story "The Magic Shoes" that played this song after the story was finished. What a great fit it was.

Another song sung by Elmo (several Elmos, actually)...before he became an overnight hit, which frankly, I don't seem to mind one bit. The thought of actually meeting Elmo...well, that would be quite a surprise, particularly with whoever's going to be doing our next Elmo (Peter Linz, perhaps?).
