This is the best of all vocal-oriented post-rock. The music itself pays off, but the album synergy is something outstanding. Even the name is so comprehensive. "After This Darkness, There's A Next"

I didn't know that, even though I'm an Isis fan. I'll check it out, thanks.

Oh, I also downloaded the new album by Palms, which features Chino Marino and members of Isis. It is a post rock masterpiece. Check that out.

Oh, you can try listening to maudlin of the Well's fourth album, Part the Second. They don't really play "pure" post-rock, it's kind of a mix of genres such as progressive rock, chamber music, etc. But they create a pretty ethereal atmosphere. There's a wide variety of vocals and lyrics in that album, but they don't really sound all that "conventional". Anyway, give them a try.

Oh sorry, I didn't read your previous comments before replying lol. Well, at least you enjoyed one of these bands.

Prior to that I sampled some of Shels stuff and found the songs I heard to be primarily not vocal oriented. But the voices seemed to be added as after thoughts, which was disappointing to me, as I am a song writer, singer, lyricist, etc.

A lot of times people don't really feel me on what I mean by "vocal oriented" post rock. They often make suggestions of bands that have like mostly instrumental albums but one or two vocal tracks, or the vocals are an after thought, like screaming without words or hums here and there. What I specifically mean by vocal oriented post rock is post rock where the vocals and lyrics are given full domain through out the albums. Not just as added sounds. I am listening to Her name is calla. Good so far

Thanks friend. By the way, when I say vocal oriented post rock I mean bands that have more than one or two vocal songs per album. I have discovered an amazing band called Gregor Samsa since then, please check them out. They have two amazing full length albums.

If you're still interested in discovering some "vocal-oriented" post-rock bands, I would suggest *Shels, *Ancients and Her Name is Calla. The last two albums by Talk Talk had some kind of post-rock sound, too (actually, some people think they were the precursors of post-rock). Furthermore, I'm pretty sure you already heard of Sigur Rós, so... yeah. Well, that's it. I hope you enjoy these bands (if you didn't know about them already, obviously)! Greetings!

What are some more vocal oriented post rock bands I should look into? I already love Raised By swans, Bark Psychosis, gregor samsa, September malevolence, Final Days society, marriages. etc. I need more though. It's like a drug. I love the vocal post rock bands.
