This piece always gives me the chills, I desired to learn it for a long time, finally I took advantage of a gloomy saturday to do so.

Separation is the theme for a mostly unknown movie (wich I haven't seen so far), it's most notable because it's a sort of addendum to Matthew Fisher's "organ trilogy" of instrumental compositions. The movie was released in 1968, the original recording was also rereleased in 1973 on Matthew Fisher's solo album "Jurney's End".

You can find my own interpretations of the first ("Repent Walpurgis", 1967) and the last ("Weisselklenzenacht - The Signature", 2003) of Fisher's organ instrumentals on my channel, the second one ("Stoke Poges", aka "Chelsea Tune") was never recorded in studio and I doubt I'll ever try to learn it (but never say "never"!).

This is my own hammond/piano arrangement, based on both the original version and the Trento 2002 performance with Procol Harum (the organ line in Trento was more complex and actually incorporated some of the strings part). I take my own solo where originally strings played a transposed melody line and in Trento Whitehorn gave us a splendid dark guitar solo.

Everything played on the brand new Crumar Mojo (www.crumar.it), piano sequenced using garageband and sound recorded via VB3 (www.genuinesoundware.com).

Thanks to Antonio Costa Barbé, who provided me a score, simplifying my work a lot.

I doubt I'll be playing this with Sormorock sometime soon (two instrumentals are already enough) but it's nice to finally have it in my own repertoire.

I know the feeling. Better to try something that's been naughing at you than saying "yes, but not today." In this case it's the effort that counts. You did well!
