i agree, it is a moving song and that emotion is lost in this version. That said, I don't think that she has ruined the song with this version. She has not taken any of the class and grace away of the song. When I first got a copy of her version, I really couldn't stop playing it. She plays it for real, I think, not for parody and, in a way, has stuck to the meaning of the song. But what do i know!
