Indeed. And thanks again; it led me to buy the single on vinyl -- two of 'em, in fact! One to play, and one as a "collector's item" to accompany the WoM-001 vinyl (Zulkifar II & III) I bought over a decade ago. I know I gave plenty of praise to Patton in my earlier post, but I must say I'm very glad the Secret Chiefs 3 are still around and continuing to make wonderful music. Trey Spruance and company have earned my deepest appreciation and gratitude for what they've been doing.

Nice interpretation, though Scott Walker's is still the definitive to my ears. Mike might be the most talented vocalist in the world, but his regular singing voice still takes a backseat to Scott's. But then... whose doesn't?

Big thanks for the upload. In this SC3/Patton cover, it's sweet how Patton pays such homage to Scott Walker and Jacques Brel's previous recordings of this great song. Walker, for his part, lacked Brel's bravado - but he sure could sing; even with Patton's amazing vocal variety, he could never match Walker's amazing tone. Patton makes up for this by invoking Brel's swagger (and language, in the second half), and also adds his some of his usual vocal 'tricks' with convincing passion. Terrific!
