so fucking good, who knows what happened between lou barlow and j mascis, but at least they made up and are making great albums together again. i think mascis was a control freak in the early dino jr days, and barlow had a lot to offer also, so they must've just bashed heads. 2 alpha's in one band doesnt usually work....

You were rightI was battling you, trying to prove myselfI tried to bury you with guilt; I wanted to prove you wrongI've got nothing better to do than pay too much attention to youIt's sad, but it's not your faultSelf-righteous and rudeI guess I lost that coolTapping 'til I drive you insaneI'm self-righteous, but never rightSo laid back, but so uptightDestroying your patience to tolerate meWith all the negative spirit I bringRight, I was obsessed to bring you downWatching your every movePlaying a little-boy gameAlways with something to proveWaiting to cut you down, making it hard to liveWith only one thing to doCut me first, make it easyNow you will be freeNow that nothing depends on meTapping 'til I drive you insaneNow you will be freeWith no sick people tugging on your sleeveYour big head has that "more room to grow"A glory I will never knowA glory I will never know

I'd love to hear J do a shredding guitar solo over this.

indie has got so far up its own ass. sebadoh, pavement etc. were great: shame so many fans grew up to be journo douchebags.

it's even worse because (at least this is how I'm to understand it) J told Lou that the band was breaking up. Then a few weeks later Lou read about Dinosaur jr. touring in a magazine with a new line up.

Whoa Emile you must be one hell of a songwriter to make such dubious claims. I don't know what you would consider his solo albums with the fog or his acoustic record but they are far off from 70's rock wankstering.

Did you just compare Sebadoh to Taylor Swift or did Pitchfork?
Eh, please... no mentioning of her around real music.

This song is amazing. Lyrically, musically, in all the ways that count. Every time I hear this song, it makes me think of a handful of people. Clearly, it's either me or them fucking up our interpersonal relationships. I'd like to think it's the latter.

no slouch? Lou pisses on Mascis 's attempts at songs Mascis is merely a 70s rock wankster

The acrimony was so deep-seated that, even after Barlow's exit in 1989, he went about writing spiteful songs about his ex-bandmate like Taylor Swift writes about ex-boyfriends. "
Fuck you Pitchfork.
