Sean "loosens up" with this great slow blues number by Otis Rush with Glenn Patscha at the keyboard, Tony Leone on Drums, and "Why Not?" on electric bass. Video by Anthony Pepitone at The Living Room in NYC. (Note the broken string and he still sounds great!)

I just discovered Sean. Man, I'm at a loss for words. I want to laugh and cry. Rejoice and mourn. I feel like my life has changed due to finding these videos. Thanks Sean. Your candle burned out far too soon.

Probably 8 people in the audience but he plays like his life depended on it. I also came to know him after he passed. What a loss. For sure one of the "goosebump" players.

i think breaking that string made his solo unique, he approached it from a different angle, way better and soulful than if he had 6. Thx Sean, never get tired of listening to you. RIP

He is actually using a pick in this - he's switching between pick and fingers all the time though.

I like this idea. I watch this performance often. I'll watch and listen many more times. He looks like he really means every note to reach out.

I listened to Sean then I listened to Clapton rendition (the same Double Trouble blues), then again Sean, and you know, for me Sean is much better - more soul, more feeling, more heart. Hats off.

One of my favorites. Sean even broke a string early on and it didn't stop him for a second. This is such a good picture of the soul of my son.

Absolutely every day for the past 5 months i go to sleep with this video on my phone just beside me and i still cant get enough of it, no other guitarist has got to me like sean does, i understand his music and what he wants to say through every single note, its just perfect. Makes ne sad to think he is not around. Peace bros

Just discovered this guy thanks to young British musician Oli Brown, Costello was indeed very talented, the next Stevie Ray Vaughn but these guys burn bright and fast

This song is such an emotional song, you see the facial expressions Mr Costello goes through whilst playing various sections of the solo.... The man was a true legend, he was taken far too soon! One of my favourite slow blues and I'm only 19.

Never heard so much soul in a white man. This song got me through a lot of stuff and just lifted my spirit every time. Night shifts became special with my Sean Costello tape in my cab. I can dream all of it note for note. I never understood why the guy stayed in the States so much, with such talent. But since I have learned about his dead, I understand it better. What a shame. This was one of the greatest Blues players ever alive if you ask me. Right up my list with Stevie on top and him second.
