I imagine this song is like what would happen if you put PJ Harvey and Courtney Love into a recording studio together. It has the folky tone that a lot of PJ's songs have, but then she turns around and hits you with that guttural, grungy distorted guitar in the style of Ms. Love. It's a strange confluence of elements, but Scout brings it all to the table. Awesome song.

I didn't know this version existed, you have no idea how freaking overjoyed I am right now because of this! I love this so much, way more aggressive with the distorted guitar. It's funny cause whenever I listened to the version on Sweet Heart Fever, I always felt like the song needed a little distortion, at least during the bridge portion. She sounds a lot like Cat Power in this.
