I just looked on setlist fm as i was curious when that show we snuck backstage to was 20 years ago to the day - fricken weird...

Saw about 3 minutes of these guys perform in concert at the Marcus Amp in Milwaukee. Cheap Trick and Alice Cooper opened up for them. Just after Alice had finished and during the break me and a budjumped a fence (I had to jump it 3 times as I had to jump back over to push his fat and weak ass over the fence) and snuck back stage. I had the bright alcohol and spleef influenced idea that we wanted to pull a “were not worthy” on Alice’s bus, but we couldn’t figure out which bus his was. So we then wandered around the innards of the Amp acting like we were roadies and even got escorted to a bathroom by one of Milwaukees finest police officers. I recall riding in the elevator with the cop and he asked us what it was like to be a roadie – “Well sir, it’s a lot of fun traveling the country but it can get tiring at times, and being away from our families isn’t much fun, but the women always think they can get to the band by going thru us first. So it has its perks”. I recall the cop asking us if we could get him an application as his girl had just broken up with him. We all chuckled. This cop had no idea we weren’t roadies. After our toilet break, we then got off on the 3rd floor of the Amp and a young woman at the elevator asked us for our stagehand passes. I looked down and acted like it was around my neck and my bud looked thru his pockets – I then answered “Crap, its so hot out I took it off as it was bothering me and its by Alice’s equipment backstage”, and my bud essentially said his was in his other shirts pocket. The girl then said that we cannot be back there – and were like ok, no prob but just let us catch our breath for a minute as we had just got done tearing down Alices set. She said fine but you cant be here very long. At that time, the Scorps had just come out of there dressing room, surrounded by their body guards no more than 3 feet away from us. I always thought that these guys were tall, and they all were no more than like 5 feet tall. They were talking in German, Hack veinz schlock ak es vood and they all looked super pumped up. I stuck out my hand, and nodded, and shook all of their hands as they passed by. About a minute later, they appeared on stage as me and my bud watched them open up the show from the catwalk. They opened the show with Loving You Sunday Morning, sung in obvious perfect English, which after hearing them speak in their native tongue was just amazing. Realizing that we had just met the Scorps blew us both away. We then decided to go back to our seats. Again, I had to jump the fence 3 times to help my buddy, only this time it was more difficult as it was an area with a higher fence just behind some bushes. As we jumped over, my bud rattled the shit out of the fence and we were quickly noticed by the Amp security guards. We told them that we had to take a piss of which they did not believe, they then escorted us out of the Amp with no problem from us. I didn’t mind so much as I had seen them 3 times prior and I really just wanted to see Alice that night. All in all one of my wildest concert nights, (and one in which I will never forget) other than the time me and that same bud snuck back stage to a Stones Show…
