School of Seven Bells is pleased to announce the official video for the track 'I Got Knocked Down (But I'll Get Up)' originally by Joey Ramone. Throughout 2013, producer and guitarist Benjamin Curtis had been battling T-cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma. Recording in its entirety on his laptop from his hospital bed in NYC, 'I Got Knocked Down (But I'll Get Up)' is Benjamin's final recording before passing on December 29, 2013.

Directors and long time friends of the group, Toby Halbrooks and Alan Del Rio Ortiz, created this visually stunning piece. Revolving around a cross-country road trip stopping in Indio and Joshua Tree, the video celebrates life while displaying its cyclical and inexplicable properties.

The track will be made available for purchase digitally on 6/24. Full video will premiere on 6/25. Stay tuned for more details and plans from School of Seven Bells.

Some times, you are ready for a song. Some times you are not.I am ready for this one now.I feel I can connect to this feelingbut I might rearrange two wor(l)dslike this..."I got knocked UP, but I'll get down..."instead of..."I got knocked down, and I'll get up"...I guess I am trying to find the ground. To be more on Earth. And less above. In. My. Head.

Moving last video between Ben and Alejandra...Ben the impetus, Alejandra who finishes it for them. Beautiful references to perseverance and intention for the future, the song is poignant in its celebration of life and death. I appreciate how Ben is woven throughout, as Alejandra moves through aspects of her grief (being alone, in touch with earth/sand, etc.), and ends with the final note of Ben pulling away forever...Alejandra left to carry the mission that was theirs. I wish the best for School of Seven Bells and hope that Alejandra sees fit to carry on its life-force. (Please come to New Orleans one day :) )

This band has not really evolved in their sound at all since their second album. I really liked the first album a lot. Everything else not so much.

School of seven bells is no more. The video said it all. She won't write and no one can replace the writer.... I was just recently diagnosed with cancer.... My music will live through my family....
