I have a question. I planning on buying a guitar with an EMG 85/81 configuration and a Sustainiac at the neck. So, the neck pickup (EMG 85) is essentially a single coil pickup with the sustainiac turned off, right? Won't that effect my tone while using the neck pickup? Aren't single coils noisy?

Thats why I think Gibsons are a ripp off look at this guitar and how good It Is and then compare prices, another one the John Petrucci Music Man Majesty both guitars are expensive but at least you see where the extra money goes but when you see a L.P its just a normal guitar.

one of the best guitars I own hands down... Brian Moore made me a custom guitar to my specks and it also has a Sustainiac at the neck with a Seymour Duncan blackout 2b at the bridge... To be honest the Schecter jams out a little harder and the neck feels a little smoother and faster in it's playability... Don't get me wrong I love them both, but I find myself using the Schecter a little more... Hopefully that helps some of you cat's that are in the guitar builder know on picking out a very well made guitar for a great price... Sweetwater has this Schecter and many more at really crazy deals "they all have a sustainiac in the ones I'm talking about" give them a check out... You won't regret it....

Tried one today. Not sure what I was or wasn't hearing with the pickup selector switch all the way up.Is the sustaniac supposed to function as a neck position  pickup or is its job to sustain the bridge pickup only ?
