everyone I sent this to who wasn't already a scarling fan was like "mehh" to the first song. It's like the desire for that specific lyric took over and never really fit with what would have worked with the music.

this song feels so nostalgic to me. it's their perfect scarling vibe that takes me back to when i saw them LIVE when i was 14. I cant believe it's been 8 years. I miss you scarling.

far from my fav scarling song. but Jess has a tendency to be ahead of her time. i just think something i wouldnt be embarassed to pull up to a stoplight blasting would be better... just sayin, not the toughest sounding music for a Chicago guy to be playin

This is very similar to the songs on So Long, Scarecrow. I don't find them different at all. Unfortunately, the melody is not as good as those on So Long, Scarecrow.

You know, after a few listens it kind of grows on you. It also makes sense sound-wise; it has that Scarling. feel to it, but Sweet Heart Dealer had a colder, sharper atmosphere to it than So Long, Scarecrow did, so it's not that surprising that they'd approach their sound a bit differently again. Seems like they're mellowing things out out a bit this time.
