So very pleased to have tracked this down from a fragmented memory of the title!! i wore out my cassette player in the 80's listening to this wonderful piece. amazingly i remember the tv show Brond too!! loved that too, but hadn't connected it with this bit of heaven. This has really made my evening!

Brilliant post - I really love this track and I'm one of those who also have this on the original vinyl (difficult to get even when it was first issued pre-internet days) and and on the Duplex double cassette. 2 years ago I managed to get a copy of all three episodes of 'Brond' which were home-transferred from VHS to DVD. It still holds up and is 'dark' and hugely enjoyable. Joseph Canteloube's Chants d'Auvergne Baïlèro was also used in the series and a beautiful version is also on YouTube

My God! I have found musical heaven. I haven't heard this for so, so long. Such a beautiful piece. I can remember being mesmerized by this as a teen and even now it seems to end too soon. Thank you so much for posting. AMAZING!

@T555PLH No problem! ;-) as far as I know, the vocalists are Judith Rees and Linda Hirst from a group called Electric Phoenix, of which Daryl Runswick was also a member. The only other performances I have by them is on a Gyorgy Ligeti boxset.
