Im still wondering why the anime is called Puella Magi Madoka Magica i mean i know that the anime is mainly about Madoka but the others are suffering because they are like protecting her (Homura) and others died just teaching her how to be a magical girl (Mami) others died because she didnt even dare to help her friend feel more comfortable instead of just calling for hr name and her friend runs away I MEAN WOMAN RUN AFTER HER (Sayaka) and DUDE u didnt even git to know her and you tagged along her and she dies in the end too (Kyoko) geez!

Sayaka is my favourite character of the show. You get to know her in her brightest moment and see her descend to the deepest darkness. And yes, all the other magical girls are not that worried about they being nothing but empty husks. But Homura and Kyoko are alone, Madoka is not a magical girl and Mami is dead. Sayaka has people she cares about, people she loves, and that's what afects her.And the theme is glorious.

At first I did not like Sayaka very much, honestly, when I first watched this anime I thought Sayaka brought everything on herself. That the reasons she fell into despair was because she couldn't get the boy she liked, so what? Get over it! She had the chance to confess, Hitomi gave her a chance because she knew Sayaka loved Kyousuke for a long time and felt that Sayaka had the right to confess her feelings first! But she didn't do it because she felt she was a zombie?I admit, I had a poor opinion of her, I felt she became a witch for no good reason. But then I didn't really want to have that opinion of her, I re-watched the series and tried to understand her a bit more. It was then I realised her story is a Little Mermaid allegory (it explains a bit of her witch form design too) that she realised that being a magical girl was never what she thought, she thought she was a hero for justice and all that stuff. Sayaka wanted to be good and pure and just like a hero should be, but then she came to slowly realise that she could never be those things. She began feeling hatred to one of her best friends Hitomi, wishing she had never saved her, I think a spiral of self hatred started at that point.She realised she wasn't fully human anymore and began to feel jealousy and hatred towards those who were, disgusted at herself for not being human and disgusted at herself for cursing people, she then knew she could never be a true hero like her idol Mami. Sayaka then started to destroy herself, killing two men and then turning into a witch.It taught me not to go with first impressions too much, Sayaka was not as shallow as I thought she was.

I'll admit it, I was late on the hype train for Puella Magi Madoka Magica. But I regret it. I regret it a lot. I think it's an understatement to say that Sayaka's my favorite character. No, she wasn't perfect, and sometimes, she wasn't the smartest, but when you think about it, she was the one who valued her humanity the most and valued humans the most. She grew reckless and depressed because she knew what being a magical girl was doing to her. Then she found out she lost the very thing she sacrificed her humanity for in the end, and also to her good friend (even if your friend is aware of your feelings, it still hurts seeing them with the guy you like.) Her story... She's so similar to The Little Mermaid, and she has to be one of the most heartbreaking anime characters in history. Geez, now I'm getting all teary-eyed... Rest in peace, Sayaka. Rest in peace.

A beautiful, yet sorrowful theme for someone who genuinely wanted to do good but her own bitterness against the cruel world we live in destroyed her. Had she not met Kyoko then she likely would have lasted a lot longerDoing a good deed is the right thing to do, but you won't always be thanked for doing someone a favour. Sometimes, sadly, your good deed will twist and turn and stab you in the back

I must be the only person that doesn't feel the least bit sorry for Sayaka. The whole arc all I could think was "Jesus, it's not THAT bad. Get over it already!" especially when you have a character like Kyoko who lost her entire family. It makes it really hard to feel sorry for Sayaka when all she lost was a boy she had a crush on and the only reason she lost him was because she didn't confess her feelings when she had the chance. Boo hoo "I'm a zombie!" bla bla. You don't see the other magical girls crying about it.

Honestly even before Kyosuke got healed from Sayaka's wishi really want to kick him in the groin, especially when he suddenly raged to Sayakalike seriously! wtf is your problem! she is showing full attention on you!and after he is healed he is like completely forgotten about her wtf?!?!
