Chris should have just ended the band and started a new one. Getting a whole new group together and going in a different direction is just lame and disrespectful to the rest of the group and what they made previously.

their early albumns were the fucking anthems of my high school years.. I still love this hsit and im 27.. God damnit I had some of the best times of my life listening to saves the day.. Hell we won our high school talent show by playing Third Engine... STD has a huge place in my heart.. Laid down the D to my first girl to saves the day etc.

They didn't sell out. That would imply they made a boat load of cash and became MTV darlings (see Newfound Glory). Just because their sound changed is why you're saying this. Are you a musician? If you were maybe you'd understand how tastes evolve over time and playing the same style over and over again stifles you creatively. Chris Conely is an amazing songwriter to whom real fans still enjoy.

Ugh, I can't even fully express how incredible these guys were way back when...Can't Slow Down is an absolute masterpiece, as well as the old B-sides and acoustic tracks. STD will always be the number one example of why musicians should never sell out, and what happens when they do. It is a damm shame. ..
