This is the filthiest most grimy raw album they ever created, makes me a proud Norwegian!

After releasing an album like this, I do not think you can harsh on Satyricon for becoming more accessible - this album proves their other-worldy abilities beyond a doubt! This is as black as it gets.

Those who know anything will know what I mean when I say the name Thorns. Still, This is my favourite Satyricon album, I agree with everything geostigma123said.

underrated album from the "true black metallers" ... but this work BLOWS everything in the whole black metal scene... no others wrote something similar... in past, present and (I suppose) in future days.

I define the 4:06 as the very beautiful symphonic hallucinogen demon walz cha cha cha and the medieval times intro walk the path of sorrow the satanic cha cha cha, but maybe we call it the wagner cha cha cha, how exactly to replace cha cha cha in this for more venom in it i'm not sure yet, maybe the "korpferwalzer werke"?

Frost's drumming is fucking otherworldly sometimes..... scratch that all the time, i think i'd actually consider him my favorite drummer, (dominator of Dark Funeral at second place)

@Luukeksi This is best thing i´ve ever read. Funny and true :D.

Frost still amazes me in this song around the minute and a half point. Y'all know those WW1 heavy machine guns on top of which you had to throw water(snow) so they wouldn't overheat. I keep picturing people standing next to Frost with buckets of water just in case he suddenly bursts in flames around that fast part.

this album was so anti-typical black metal at the time, I really liked the approach they make at this time, but then they became rockstars. shame
