"Ain't Misbehavin'" is a 1929 song written by Thomas "Fats" Waller, Harry Brooks (music) and Andy Razaf (lyrics). Waller recorded the original version that year for Victor Records and also later performed the song in the 1943 film Stormy Weather. It was used in the off-broadway musical Connie's Hot Chocolates.

Sarah is accompanied by George Treadwell and His All-Stars, Miles Davis (trumpet), Budd Johnson (tenor), Benny Green (trombone), Tony Scott (clarinet), Jimmy Jones (piano), Billy Taylor, Jr. (bass), J. C. Heard (drums) and Freddie Green (guitar). Recorded in New York City, Apollo Theatre, May 18, 1950. (Columbia Records)

No one to talk with

All by myself

No one to walk with

But I'm happy on the shelf

Ain't misbehavin'

I'm savin' my love for you

I know for certain

The one I love

I'm through with flirtin'

It's just you I'm thinkin' of

Ain't misbehavin'

I'm savin' my love for you

Like Jack Horner

In the corner

Don't go nowhere

What do I care?

Your kisses are worth waitin' for

Believe me

I don't stay out late

Don't care to go

I'm home about eight

Just me and my radio

Ain't misbehavin'

I'm savin' my love for you

Like Jack Horner

In the corner

Don't go nowhere

What do I care?

Your kisses are worth waitin' for

Believe me

I don't stay out late

Don't care to go

I'm home about eight

Just me and my radio

Ain't misbehavin'

I'm savin' my love for you

This is a defining example of why they called her sassy, she sounds so sassy here, I agree she had the best phrasing, so much attitude and drama, and whenever she wanted to use either. Love it!
