I thought I would never hear this song again .. I worked at the National Theatre when Jean Seberge the Musical came into production. It's a shame the musical was such a flop in fact probably the worse flop the National Theatre has ever had. Some of the music like' Dreamers' was so beautiful. Some other memorable songs were 'Fly the wind' and 'My lips are Sealed', sung to a calypso type rythmn. The music was written by Marvin Hamlish lyrics by Chris Adler from a book by Julian Barry. It was first seen on the Olivier Stage in January 1983 and closed in April of that year after receiving rather 'tepid' reviews. One such review asked how such a large musical could be written about such a small actress.It has never seen daylight, in it's entirety, since then either in the UK or in America. I do have to say though that the original version of 'Dreamers' in the stage production was better.. but then you had the atmosphere of the story behind it. Somehow taken out of context it's not the same.
