Two songs with the same title, but different lyrics. Lisa Layne is the singer on this one, which goes back to 1989, while Mariah Carey's song dates to 1994.

The original version of this song, by Vince Vance & The Valiants, appeared as a single in 1989, but took a few years before it charted. It was written by Andy Stone (aka Vince Vance), who is the last original member of the group.

Actually, this is a cover version of the hit song by Vince Vance & The Valiants which first entered the Billboard Magazine country singles chart in 1993, and subsequently charted five more times on that same chart,. the last year being in 1999. ;-)
