They were great friends before..I had a "friend" like this once. She and I to this day remain really great friends. But things "change". We dont "talk-talk" too much anymore, not the same way we use to. This song wraps up all the "coulda-beens, shoulda-beens and woulda-beens" of "Life" into one sick twist of Fate/Destiny". I don't think any song in country music best sums up the angst when such close relationships fade...
