This video comes from what claims to be the only known filmed Rat Pack concert from the 1960s. It's a 90-minute show (Hosted by Johnny Carson) from the Kiel Opera House in St. Louis.

Backed by a 32-year-old Quincy Jones conducting the Count Basie Orchestra, in this clip Sammy sings while imitating many of the personalities of the time: Fred Astaire, Nat 'King' Cole, Billy Eckstine, Vaughn Monroe, Tony Bennett, Mel Torme, Frankie Laine, Louis Armstrong, Dean Martin (Who was waiting on the wings with Frank Sinatra), and Jerry Lewis.

You gotta love it when Sammy (playing Dean) asks, "Which way is the audience, Pally?"

Wow, such an awesome talented man. And a charismatic stage presence, and multi-vocal range. Wish I'd seen him performing in a live concert.

There were people who felt Sammy Davis Jr. sold out and swallowed his pride too much in order to advance his career in a time when race meant everything to so many people. But what seems to be forgotten is that he was one of the greatest all-around performers *of all time*. There are very few people, living or dead, who could do as many things well as he could.

Besides belting it out beautifully, Sammy always gives credit to those who wrote or sang the song prior.
