Three months earlier on December 14th, 1968 it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #11 and spent 16 weeks on the Top 100... And on January 25th, 1969 it reached #1 {for 7 weeks} on Billboard's Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks chart... The song was originally from the 1968 Broadway musical 'Golden Rainbow'... RIP Mr. Davis {1925 - 1990}
