whoa there, tiger!! =] never said it wasn't "significant", nor that it was any way un-related.. ;) just that it was not *intended* to be in "synch". good to see WE BOTH AGREE it may've been coincidental, unconscious, unplanned, and that it goes with this song. nothing for me to be 'wrong' about, nor for you to flare up about-- we're on th same side here - Sammy fans, united..?? :D

Pardon, but I have studied his EVERY nuance, his every motion, e-motion, inflection, gesture, no matter how subtle, and I can tell you FOR CERTAIN, that motion may have been coincidental, but it certainly was NOT of no significance. It may have been unconscious and unplanned, but it ABSOLUTELY accompanied that particular phrase in that song. You will NEVER convince me otherwise. You are WRONG, I dont care if you're a singer or not; that has no bearing on this.

Like Kara1464, I see what you mean, but (forgive me) I daresay the lapel-touch is coincidental, and not intended to be in sync.. cute idea though! =] As a singer myself, I can honestly say, even (or maybe 'especially'!) with songs I sing at every outing, gestures are purely natural/subconscious, as our focus tends to be on *delivery* - i.e. vocal strength/control & 'keeping half an ear on the music', and just enjoying performing! =D

LOVE Sammy's turn with Stevie Wonder's "upbeat" version of the ballad Tony Bennett immortalised!! ;D Just need to find the real "original singer"s performance if poss..

This is terrific - he is the best of the Rat Pack - he could sing FS and DM under the table! Wonderful phrasing.

I especially like the gesture at 1:36 where he brushes his lapel in sync with the lyrics. Having sung this fabulous song for decades, he has perfected and familiarized every note, every nuance, every tone. He FELT what he sang; it was NEVER just words. What a great man. Gone too soon, his music lives on.
