Here we have the original 1969 version of 'The Love of A Woman' written by Barry and Maurice Gibb and Produced by Barry. Samantha reprised the song on her 1977 'Emotions' album, but it is this version with backing vocals by Barry Gibb that takes the plaudits.
Sorry there is a bit of surface noise but this is taken from the original vinyl.

I'm unfamiliar with this version. Some aspects of it are better, I think, than in 1976. Makes me wonder why she (they) redid it for the US album release, as there's really nothing wrong here.11 years ago

@opendtuning Indeed it was well advertised at the time,full page adverts in the NME and a fair amount of airplay.The Bee Gees link was paramount in this as just about everything they touched in the late sixties immediately turned to gold.For me 1969 is one of the classic years for hit records,I guess this one just fell by the wayside.14 years ago

According to my father, together with PP Arnold's "Give a Hand Take a Hand", this songs were hits in early 1970. I've heard Bee Gees' "Give a Hand Take a Hand", but my old man said PP Arnold's is far better. I'm dying to hear that song, and I also know that you'll upload it.
