On this day in 1966 {June 11th} "Lil' Red Riding Hood" by Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #2 and spent 14 weeks on the Top 100... It also reached #2 on the Canadian RPM Top Singles chart... Between 1965 and 1967 the group had nine Top 100 records, with two making the Top 10 and both of them reached #2 {this one and "Wooly Bully"}... Sam the Sham, aka Domingo Zamudio, celebrated his 76th birthday three months ago on March 6th...

So WHAT if he forgot some words? MOST singers forgot some of the words every now and then, especially for 40-year-old songs! Who cares? This is THE MAN singing his own song. He can do as he pleases.

He butchered his own song. It is a hard song to remember, trust me, no repeating verses except one, no bridge, I keep my notes open when we do it.

It's clear that he is not lip singing. He has forgotten some of the words.

It's old technology... the larynx used in conjunction with the lungs, tongue and lips. Very effective, but not used too often nowadays :•)
