Why do you people have to argue about who sings it better? It doesn't matter to Billy and Sam.  Sam wrote it so he's making tons of money since Billy recorded it and took it to #1.  And we get to enjoy 2 great versions. Everyone is happy!

Billys version has a better tune to it to make you want to ride a back road windows down, this though my opinion is better. Sam has an amazing voice reaching out in the lyrics especially in the chorus. This is more backwoods bonfire with friends music and I love it
