As I found only an incomplete version of this here, I decided to put up the complete studio version in stereo. Large sound, recorded in a big room. Done in 1964 from Sam Cooke's last album.

* LeRoy Crume, Clifton White & René Hall strummin' away on them gueetars; * William Green & Red Tyler on Baritone/Tenor saxophones; *Chuck Badie - bass; * Harold Battiste - piano;

* John Boudreaux - drums; * Melvin Lastie - trumpet

The song was released on RCA Victor. The picture you see there, is the original Mercury 78 RPM of the Patti Page song. Somebody pasted Sam Cooke instead of Patti Page. BTW, Sam Cooke is my all-time favorite singer!

I was also surprised to see a version released on KEEN. L.C.Cooke, also a great performer is credited with writing this song. I know that is not the case. Tennessee Waltz was written by Pee Wee King.

If this was recorded in '64, when were those 78 rpm versions shown in the video recorded? They didn't make 78s anymore in '64.

Thanks for the compliment! The TV show had too much vocal out of synch, and other things showing during the performance that it couldn't match with this studio recording. So I filled the spaces with other tidbits..

I love where you have it synched with the vintage TV performance. Any chance of you uploading again with the whole video like that? This recording sounds so amazingly good.
