With respect, a quick correction: as great a songwriter as Sam was, this track is actually a cover. The song was written in 1940 by Remus Harris, Irving Melsher, and Russ Morgan. Russ Morgan & His Orchestra recorded the first version, and it has been covered many times , including great versions by Aretha Franklin and James Brown.

One of his most underrated songs. His first pop LP is very underrated also.
