This song is as old as the hills! I've heard versions of this song dating back to the 1930's. But I have to say that Sam's is the best version. And even though this song is supposed to be remembered for how beautiful it is sung, no one can hear this song and not think about An American Werewolf In London. Damn you John Landis!!!
