Sam Browne (1898, London, England -- 1972) was an English dance band singer who became one of the most popular British dance band vocalists of the 1930s. He is particularly remembered singing with Jack Hylton and with Ambrose and his Orchestra, at the Mayfair Hotel and Embassy Club, with whom he made many recordings from 1930 to 1942, and for his duets and variety performances with the singer Elsie Carlisle.

Benjamin Baruch Ambrose (15 September 1896 -- 11 June 1971), known professionally as Ambrose or Bert Ambrose, was an English bandleader and violinist. Ambrose become the leader of a highly acclaimed English dance band, the Bert Ambrose & His Orchestra, in the 1930s.

Ammie and Sam were a golden combination, even more so than Bowlly and Noble. Browne with his reach of almost 3 octaves could sing everyting, Bowlly had no mre than just over one octave.
