I first heard this on a BBC programme about the life of the sixties actress Carol White AKA "The Battersea Bardot".A beautiful tune. Also featured on the programme was Twinkle's "Golden Lights", well worth checking out if you've not heard of it.

This was a double-A side with "Who do you think you are" but the strange thing is I don't ever remember hearing this on the radio whereas they played the more upbeat WDYTYA a lot, but I like both tracks, this is actually the first time I've heard this one! Nice!

@ Cardigan3000: Just because you don't know what it means doesn't prove it's "nonsense". According to Wikipedia: "The title may derive from a construction firm called Hobart Paving Company Limited in the town of Croydon, where two of the band members grew up." As for "twee", the original album version has the following intro (sampled from some film): "Do you think a girl should go to bed with a feller, if she doesn't love him? No. [pause] Unless it's me."

And I am listening this song while being in Greece now, on a hot, summer afternoon. Loads of sun-drenched greetings!
