Actually, it's the first digitally recorded popular music album because the classical nobs got there first. Also, Ryland has gone on record (no pun intended) as having said that he wished it had been recorded using analogue media, but you can't turn back time n'est ce pas?For myself, I'm just happy with the majesty of this recording.
