From "Ry Cooder & The Moula Banda Rhythm Aces: Let's Have A Ball", a film by Les Blank taped at The Catalyst, Santa Cruz, CA on March 25'th 1987. Band introduction. Nice Jim Keltner solo.

Comment from MrBillindallas:

They shot some promo pix in San Francisco on this mini-tour for a drum endorsement. The photog asked Mr. Keltner if he wanted to take his sunglasses off for some of the photos. He dryly replied, "If I took my glasses off nobody would know that it was me." Great guy - great drummer - a real pro.

Another comment from MrBillindallas:

Concert was from a two night run - the last of nine total dates on the NorCal tour. Shot on 16mm film with an audio remote truck in the alley. Movie was released in Europe but not in the US. Great band, at one of the best venues in the 'States, the last two nights of the mini-tour they were truly on fire. One venue was so small the band filled the stage and the dance floor.

Don't forget to BUY A CD of Ry Cooder's work....In this time of FREE everything, an artist like Ry needs some support too! A maestro doesn't live on AIR ya know!

Ry can do any genre. If you check out his various performances, you'll see that he performs top-notch with everybody he is teamed with. He is really into the musical performance, he doesn't have to be the star unlike most musicians.Rather, Ry wants to blend into and enhance whatever the lead performer is doing...His best performances are when he is doing the lead ..a consummate technician in his guitar performances...and what a slide he has. When he is the lead performer the stage really rocks.
