As somebody who has been kicked in the face, lost multiple glasses (with or without straps) and seen somebody carted off in an ambulance after a bad crowdsurfing dismount, I love the idea that a band I really really love is willing to ask for something different from their fans to keep them all safe and happy. not for everyone, sure, but a band should have some say in the kind of behavior goes on at their shows, and this just seems responsible and kind to me.

as someone who is trans and was socialised as a girl and as someone who has been out as queer and a part of the punk scene since i was 13 its so rare to go to shows or listen to bands who acknowledge my experiences and identity as real. so let me explain to you jerx ,sometimes this thing you care for, be it punk/shows/whatever is gonna make you feel uncomfortable or invisible or unhappy or silenced or controlled or angry and you just have to build a bridge and get over it.

i loved RVIVR way before i met anyone in the band. and back then i just assumed that the people in the band were probs like every other person in the majority of bands i liked and lived in a straightpunkworld without much understandin of queer stuff and especially trans stuff.i was completely wrong. so all those dudebros and square punx boo-hoo-in cause a band they love doesnt mirror their experience of punk culture or validate who they are and their ideas of fun need to shut up and get over it.
