I like her voice but the orchestration at the final few everything's coming ups is insane. so light and happy! Why? I prefer heavier and more dramatic, like the absolute final line.

Not particularly!! Mama Rose is only supposed to age between 35 and 45. It's just turned traditional that the show is being played by old broads knocking 60, which is REAL stretch of the imagination. At least the fabulous Caroline O'Connor currently playing her in the UK can get away with it, and is stunning.

She's a skilled actress! There's a reason why she's not singing it like Mama Rose! I don't thin she'd sing it less than the character without a reason! She's not stupid after all...

Honestly there's nothing here that I don't also feel from Bernadette Peter's version. She brings a slightly softer edge to the song at the beginning, but it all ends the same.

i love her dress. And , I do think she did a great job with this song. I don't picture her actually playing Momma Rose, but stranger things have happened. And yes, it is out of context, so she lightened it up quite a bit. In context, this song can be donright frightening.

I love me some Ruthie Henshall, however, this is not a good match for her, her voice is just to sultry and smooth for this number... it needs more brass, the actress needs to chew her words as she sings them

I disagree. I think Ruthie does this song justice, and i would LOVE to see her as Mama Rose. I personally do not care for Patti LuPone's portrayal of Mama Rose, I think she overacts.
