"Steer clear of frozen ponds, peroxide blondes, stocks and bonds..." She warned them of the stock market six months in advance. Apparently few listened.

My favorite song my mom used to sing to me (only she would change the lyrics to fit me better :) when I was a wee little kid .

Ha ha! This is practically 10% of everything my mom says to my dad! But seriously the guy eats way to much meat.

I have to say the best version of this song is that of The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band.

I just discovered Ruth and I feel like I've already heard all her songs before?? Like they're somehow familiar to me even though I know I've never heard them before....Makes me smile.

Why not? It's useful to know what you prefer and why. And it's useful to engage in conversation about taste. From it one can even learn new standards. It's not insulting to strawberry to prefer chocolate or to Gene Kelly to prefer Fred Astaire.

Not heard this since I was about 6 or so, sitting in my grandmother's kitchen listening to her sing whilst she baked :) 20 years later and it's a random snippet in a video game. Kinda crazy the way things make you feel nostalgic :D

Because in the comments it was noted that Hanshaw did a version which my humble ears have heard and In My Humble Opinion, Ruth's version of this song is heaps better. "Thats all!"
