Nine years earlier in 1961 Doug and his brother Rusty's original version reached #10 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart... Two covered versions made the Top 100; the Pozo-Seco Singers {#97 in 1967} and Bobbie Gentry {#100 in 1968}... In 1970 Connie Smith took it to #14 on the Country chart... R.I.P. Mr. Cash {1932 - 2003} and Rusty Kershaw {1938 - 2001}...
