Finns had it hard in WW2 but I wouldn't put them on anyone's side but their own. They fought with the Germans when they had to to fight off the Russians, they fought with the allies when they had to to fight off the Germans. Finland was probably unique in WW2 in that they ended up having to fight against both sides just to keep their head above water. Probably why they're bastard tough as nails now.

@tubbenm It can actually be understood in two ways. Bloodcareer and bloodtrail. In phrase "Aurat vihan eespäin syöksyy ja veriurat jälkeen jää", bloodtrail would be more wise translation. But as for song's theme, bloodcareer would fit as well.
