A Mhic Iain 'Ic Sheumais

Tha do sgeul air m'aire

Air fa ra ra lo, air fa ra ra lo

Latha Blar a' Cheithe

Bha feum air mo leanamh

A hi eile fe o hiri si bho horo hu

Fal eile bho hiri si bho ho fal eile bho

Latha Blar a' Cheithe

Bha feum air mo leanamh

Lathe Blar na Feitheadh

Bha do leine na ballan

Lathe Blar na Feitheadh

Bha do leine na ballan

Bha fuil do chuim chubhraidh

A drudhadh ro'n anart

Bha fuil do chuim chubhraidh

A drudhadh ro'n anart

Bha fuil do chuirp uasail

Air uachdair gach fearainn

Bha fuil do chuirp uasail

Air uachdair gach fearainn

Cuma nach ghabh thu am bristeadh

Latha ligeadh na fala

Does anyone know if that is Rory's bass? I've seen him with his sunburst 70s jazz and black jazz with tort pick guard, but never seen him use this one? It's an early 60s one with those controls, and extremely rare!

Outstanding work by Runrig here. Rory's vocals are haunting - just superb. And as for Malcolm Jones' guitar solo - man that is a class act. Love the way it intertwines with the bass. A lot of musicians could learn an awful lot just by listening to this,.Definitely one of Runrigs finest moments. And an excellent album as well! UISTMAN - I am interested in archery and its history - never knew that about the Battle of Carnish. Fascinating! Taing mhor airson an fhiosrachaidh sin!

Runrig lives in my heart. It's great seeing Rory taking the lead in this very moving video.

@jimbob1969 My grandfather was also from North Uist (Sollas) "Feith" is really a bog or morass - soft marshy ground. Sometimes it means a bog channel where boggy ground has been drained. There is indeed a stream near there which is called "Feith na fala". There was a skull lying somewhere in the temple grounds up until the first half of the 19th century but while it was said to be a skull of one of the MacLeaods, it wouldn't have been "MacLeod's skull" which would indicate the chief himself :-)

@UISTMAN59 Feith na fala The Ditch of Blood .. Macleods skull was supposed to be at Trinity temple.. My grandfather took me there as a boy.
