This is probably my favourite single bit of footage of Runrig across their history. The guitar solo is the best of all the versions and the sense of finality in Donnie's vocals bring the lyrics home. It marked the end of Runrig as I knew it but listening back to Mara and Amazing Things it's hard to know for sure if they could have continued to be fresh and original for these extra years. Songs like Road Trip, Travellers, Wall of China, Leaving Strathconan and Big Songs of Hope and Cheer are diverse songs written for Bruce's voice and I now feel that I have two options when I want to listen: classic Runrig and modern Runrig. To me that is a rare blessing.

GREAT STUFF!! Donnie must watch Runrig now, and wonder if he made a huge mistake. Bruce sings this great too. Can't separate them, but the grass isn't always greener Donnie, and its been shown that you weren't irreplaceable. Saying that though, a great version of a great great song!

There's only one Runrig for me, A wonderful band but without that wonderful vocal its not the same for me. Donny was the thread that held it all together sadly I can only visit youtube for my memories.

I'm working on arranging this for piano/Celtic harp just so I can enjoy playing it for myself. Basic chords are not enough.... I want the choral subtleties and countermelodies! Between Rory's(?) higher harmony and the studio gospel version, I'll get there...

My favourite Runrig song (only Donny singing it) Played at my brothers funeral (he lived in Australia for 35 years) in Fife and Australia at the same time allowing for the time difference :)

Hey Donnie, sad to say but the rest of the band backed the right (or should I say left) political party…!

Thank you and also for introducing me to Socha. Another great Scottish group. My favorite has always been Doo Wop but I really love the Celtic music. One of my favorite Irish bands is Celtic Thunder and let's not forget Daniel O'Donnell.

It's never too late to discover great new music ;) Donnie Munro left Runrig, because he wanted a career in politics - but he still makes music on his own now, and he's still great. Those of us who was at the anniversary concert earlier this year experienced him on stage once again - singing duet with Runrig's new front man Bruce Guthro and singing a solo song.

He's an amazing singer. I am new to Runrig so why did he leave the group? What a beautiful performance. I have never been to Scotland and has always been my dream. My grandfather on my father's side was born there but don't remember where it was because he has passed on a long time ago and so hasn't my Dad.
