got turned on to this band 20 or 25 years ago buy my best friends dad when I lived back home in Flatwoods Kentucky... thought it was one of greatest things I ever heard. we would drink beer and shine and dance the jig and sing along to every word of every song every weekend for about 10 years. about 10 or 20 of us drunk and singing run c & w all night long both my best friends and their dad's are dead now and I think of them every time I hear this. great times with great people. we all went to same high school Billy Ray Cyrus went to and the song itchy twitchy spot cracked us up cause everybody was wild about achey breaky heart back then. Lmao. Good ole days for sure. still love this album now.

What I love about them is that they way they play them, these songs sound like could well have originated as string band music

Best part of run c and w is that you can hardly remember the originals they're so infectious... wonderful, just delightful! Thanks!

Hayseed Dixie is very good, but they do rock covers not soul/r&b. They also have a good pedigree musically. Two members are sons of banjo legend Don Reno.

Russell Smith, formerly of The Amazing Rhythm Aces, is lead vocalist. I like everything he's ever done...
