Royal Garden Blues Barber Chris 1990?

Chris Barber's Jazz Band. I have no info of when or where but it is a recording done in a small place. The members seem to enjoy that closer contact with their audience. Most films I've seen of the Barber band are much more formal in concert halls. There is special attraction for many musicians to play in smaller places where eye contact and audience warmth creates a different inspiration. Also as a band standing closer together, and not being distracted by sound engineers, who usually have a different opinion how the band should sound, brings surprising new ideas to the creative mind. There is a very nice clarinet solo by Ian Wheeler, one of my favourite clarinet players.

The longer I live the more I hear of falling by the wayside. Sad - sad, but what memories they leave behind

До переезда в 1972 г. на новую квартиру была у меня на старой пластинке запись этого блюза оркестром п/у Карела Краутгартнера. Отдал. А теперь не могу найти даже тут. Только это, более-менее созвучное.

The members of this band: Chris Barber trombone, Pat Halcox trumpet, Ian Wheeler and John Crocker clarinet and altosax (John also tenor sax), Johnny McCallum banjo (and guitar), John Slaughter guitar, Vic Pitt bass and Alan ("Stcky") Wicket drums. Sad that three of them have passed away: John Slaughter, Ian Wheeler and Pat Halcox aren't with us anymore.

The music sounds good, Bob, however, the audiio level is very low. Had to crank it up to maximum. Also the picture kept breaking up. I suppose if that's all you have, there's not much you can do about it. Anyway, keep making great posts as we jazz fans appreciate them.
