One of Roy's greatest influences - In 1970 Roy recorded the MGM album "Hank Williams the Roy Orbison Way" The album is extremely rare and there was no singles 45 released to promote it. I love Roy's version of Kaw Liga, the opening cut.

I believe this is still available on EDSEL classic albums series "Roy Orbison sings Don Gibson/ Hank Williams - The Roy Orbison way" Cat no being B002HHH3YK.

A superb pairing of songwriters that Roy obviously respected. If not then I feel it's about time some outfit like Bear Family records stepped up and produced a second boxed set on Roy's MGM records, don't you ?.

Note: I do not own the copyrights. I think it either Sony or Polydor and the Roy Orbison estate. I am merely a fan and just felt that this song deserves to be on you tube in the best audio. Mercy !

@hartommitch Thanks but i will soon get back to doing vintage tennis. Maybe later this year if i find other Roy songs not on you tube, we'll see. Yes you are correct about Lefty being an influence but so to was Hank (as he was with many of Roy's contemporaries) . Did Roy record any of Fritzell's songs ?

Roy's big infuence was Lefty Fritzell and not Hank Willams as far as I know. He never mentioned Hank Willams in interviews. In The Traveling Wilbury he was named Lefty after his hero. Good video by the way. Keep up the good work my friend.
