Why not drugs eh, Roxy Blue are singing about loving little girls and telling you to rob the cradle all night long. hanging around school gates and looking for little girls to take? explain it away any way you like, its out and out paedophilia.

This band brings back great memories. My wife and I meet at a Roxy Blue show in July 1990. We have been married since 1994.

Yeah and Kiss Alive III................also I think that the group Firehouse were the last new band to do as well as they did with the old style. They would have fit with REO Speedwagon or some early eighties bands. ..What's really fascinating to me is how, like you say, it was milked to the end. I think it's because some people wouldn't budge lol....People who liked both, most of them had to give up the eighties during '93. It was like being a Kiss fan in 1980 ...couldn't really be done.

I remember in '92, KISS toured arenas with Trixter and Faster Pussycat, and MTV was playing their "I Just Wanna" video. MTV played Saigon Kick's "Love Is On The Way" even during the day, and on HB Ball it aired Tora Tora's "Amnesia" as well as videos from then-new bands like Wildside and Slik Toxik. The record industry milked the hair band genre til the very end. I think the absolute last shard of "eightiesness" came in 1993, when Vince Neil released his debut solo album to very little fanfare.

Exactly. I'm always making this argument to people. I noticed playing clubs around the country during this era, I noticed that 92 was the last year when eighties stuff shared the spotlight with the new stuff. By 93 the eighties were shunned by just about everybody. Motley Crue etc became bad words. It was like the disco backlash in the late seventies early eighties. Still, they early nineties seemed like a wasteland between two eras.

I saw Roxy Blue live in June 1992 at the now-defunct Button South in Hallandale, FL. Wildside opened, and were highly forgettable (except for their cover of Accept's "Balls To The Wall" as a set closer). Roxy Blue were fun, not caring how obvious of a Van Halen clone they were (and who couldn't notice that?). They hit the scene too late. I've always called 1992 the "overlap year"..when hair bands last enjoyed the spotlight just as the grunge scene were not yet done pushing them out of the way.

I will admit that 714 is a better band; however, the formula is still the same. There's already bands like Shinedown, Chevelle, etc. that fall in that same genre. This problem plagues musicians all the time. Dude has a good voice, he just needs to add a little something to be different.

Sure i can explain that to you Kurt along with the all grunge generation helped to kill the REAL ROCK N ROLL for a guy like Cobain a band like Roxxy Blue was commercial and wrong , while he was a guy that used his drug issue to make money and when he finetely learned three chords he started one of the worse bands ever that only sang about drugs suicide and sadness so then rock music stopped being fun to become some cry me a river sort of thing A band like Roxxy Blue is a big FUCK OFF to him
