MOMENTS TO REMEMBER for MAY 23 - Check out this early pre-stardom film clip of ROSEMARY CLOONEY (May 23, 1928--Jun 29, 2002). Most everyone has heard her famous song hits of the 1950s, but the critical stepping-stone to that solo career was her time as vocalist with the Tony Pastor band during the late ‘40s. Most frequently performing as one-half of The Clooney Sisters (alongside sister Betty) Rosie was sometimes featured by herself or with Pastor, as she is in this 1947 clip. this song is so addictive, so catchy. ive started a love affair with big band music in the last few months or so. I was born in 1970 so this is way before my time, but I sure know good music when I hear it.another great listen is "Red wagon" with tony pastor (with doroles martel.)

Rosemary looked and sounded amazingly the same throughout her career. Most big time girl singers seem somewhere along the line to lose their sound and their style but Rosie was consistent start to finish. Ditto Doris Day.
