American Blues Great, Rory Block, with her version of Robert Johnson's "Come On In My Kitchen". This is from her album "Gone Woman Blues - The Country Blues Collection". Enjoy!

Rory Block has won five W.C. Handy Awards (now called Blues Music Awards). She has won Traditional Blues Female Artist two times, and three times for Acoustic Blues Album Of The Year. She has topped the charts in Europe and is more well known there which is a sad state of affairs, I feel. Sure wish the American audiences would catch up with the Europeans on lovin' Rory!

Here is a spectacular site for Rory Block. Check it out if you like her music! www.roryblock.com

'US AND THEM'

--weak,watery and unconvincing,-both voice and guitar---Clapton already did the ultimate tribute,to Johnson and hers doesnt come anywhere near it,--so tell me please, why is she even bothering--??

Why that's too kind of you ma'am. I think everything worked out in the end, the way it was meant to. I don't think mrs. Block's talent needs spreading since Legends are always discovered one way or another. And you are way special, for knowing what you know and taking to those things that you take to, I too need mountains and grass just as I need air for breath, see I'm a country boy more than anything really. Bless your heart Mrs. Moppet (I presume)

You are very special! What a great find to like those who LOVE music! At a special time, music kept me alive & I need it like I need air...and grass and mountains. Thanks so much. I DO want to let you know that when I found Rory's cd & saw her address, it was in 1990 & the cd was the one which looks self-produced. I had been in Charlotte since 1976 & perhaps could have helped 'spread the word' on her talent. I just didn't know about her in time. My best to you, Moppet (Barbara)

I'm glad to meet a Rory Block fan!!! I adore her. I found her shortly after leaving Charlotte & when I saw the address on her cd I cried. She lived within 3 miles of me! I would have been involved in any way to have helped her way back as a volunteer. I think she is the truest female blues artist going...in staying within the Old Bluesmasters traditions. type her name in on my Channel Page, top rt "Search Channel" & you can see all my videos of her. Other tags: blues, traditional blues, delta b

@lafj00 She is incredible! I lived within a few miles of her & didn't find her music til moving halfway across the country. :( I would have stuffed envelopes or anything to have helped her in the early days but I hadn't heard of her yet. Thank you for taking the time to comment and to listen. I appreciate your comments very much. My best to you, Moppet (Barbara)
