Somebody should've thought of putting together Manuva and that other guy from Faithless in the same vid - whenever I look at Faithless videos, latter is always running somewhere, so they would've kept each other company.

The video is a commentary on popular dominance culture and individualism in Western culture. As individuals in this society, we are motivated and urged to overcome our personal obstacles, essentially at all costs. The Nike "just do it" mindset pervades our most private aspects as a developing person. What we are shown through portrayals of "success" is essentially brute and inconsiderate displays of dominance. In this way, we are supposed to overcome whatever is seen as limiting to us as individuals to such a fierce degree that we forget all about it (move beyond it) and we become stronger in the process. This ideology presents a lot of problems. First of all, it is very inconsiderate to others as well as the present situation. Just because we as individual encounter obstacles in our lives, and sometimes we loose, does not mean that we need to revisit those things with such rage!Regardless, this ideology is generally backed by Western culture because it aligns well with individualism and the popular belief in determinism of fate.

Back in the days before the x factor and shiz, when creativity was key to good music, not how commercial you sound...
