Lord, Mr. Isley and Mr. Bacharach are so blessed to sing and play music that is good for the soul. Mr. Isley, thank you for being here and well to share your beautiful voice. I feel like I can go on and do something meaningful. Thank you too Mr. Bacharach for such beautiful melodies and lyrics.

@hjcrawfordiii Amen to that. I am in complete agreement with you. If only the leaders of all the countries in the world would listen to this song, and heed; we could only hope it might make a difference. I am immersing myself in beautiful music such as this these days because when I see the drastic changes occurring right before our eyes, now; it really seems as though things have gone way too far. And, we are merely pawns; and I am frightened.

"The windows of the world are covered with rain, There must be something we can do - Everybody knows, whenever rain appears, It's really Angel Tears, How long must they cry? Let the sun shine through." The most poignant lyrics I have ever heard; and I can't help but apply it to our world today. Such a beautiful, profound, and moving song. The purpose and gift that God gave Burt Bacharach & Hal David was the gift of their music to give to the world. If only man could listen carefully & heed.

@Aggromerchant Who are you speaking out to, when you say, "Save the pollyannish lecturing"? You state that 'this is a great tune that appeals to your nobler instincts' , and yet you preface that with statements that reveal very much the opposite of one who professes to have the ability to possess an inclination towards a "nobler instinct". And, if that's "all you care about", you have missed the message entirely that Burt was conveying when he wrote this song. Please clarify.

You could nuke Iraq for all I care, and drop one Canada while you're at it. This is a great tune that appeals to my nobler instincts and that's all I really care about. Save the pollyannish lecturing.

These lyrics are as true today as when the song was first written, sadly. This song was written in response to the Vietnam War and this performance was taped a year after the invasion of Iraq. Unfortunately us humans have a long way to go before we can manage our violent and destructive and violet tendencies and there is peace and cooperation among the peoples of our planet earth. At least we have beautiful music created by humans as a better part of our nature.

this song although previously sung by Dionne Warwick in the '60s is so true for the things that are going on today in the Y2K's . . . . Genius is the only word to describe the writing and arrangement for this song . . . . .

Nice to see other 4 eyed people in the world. I just got a new pair of b/w Kam Dhillon plastic to alternate with my other thin wire frame.
