if slash was not the guitarist of GnR at the first, Guns N' Roses might not be known so well like nowadays. we all know that Ron is great guitarist. but, we all have to realize it, that in fact slash is the other half souls of Guns N' Roses beside Axl. if there are no both of them in the first era, we might never knew a song called Sweet child O' mine, or even we might never heard the name of Guns N' Roses as one of the legend of glam rock that the world had before. cheers! :)

Ron is on another level, but the level of disrespect towards Slash here is amusing, Ladies and Gentlemen, Guns and Roses were the biggest band of the era for good reason. It all came together, they were all good at what they did, get over it and enjoy the music ;)

I'm not disputing the fact that Slash created some great riffs and solos, but he's not the be all and end all of guitar music, as the classic GNR fans like to claim. To this day he still plays the same style of bluesy-type rock which is fine, it still sounds good. But Axl wanted to evolve their original sound, and has, while Slash asked Myles Kennedy to imitate Axl on a few of the old classics. Myles is Myles, but when he sings Axl's old songs, it just sounds like I'm listening to American Idol

they played for GnR after axl pull out the paddles and breathed life back into that dinosaur. the people that still care about that band know slash as the guitar player. no one else.

no. slash has a blues rock style that isn't original. his playing is in the same vain every single song he does. he has a signature sound because he plays the same things all the time. his solo's are often duplicated and not overly difficult to play. unless you're a drummer.

Dude,my favorite guitarrist is Slash,he inspired me to start playing guitar and shit,i went to his show last year,but,Buckethead is soooooo fucking better,look,go watch Soothsayer or his Nightrain's solos,And so Bumblefoot, go see his pink pather solo or Shackler's revenge solo,Slash is great,but those two are way better,Buckethead in my opinion is the best guitarrist ever

Slash is the founder of all of G n R's great guitar riffs isn't he? His style is VERY hard to mimic. His solos are almost impossible to play JUST like him. Ask any guitarist thats played awhile and they will tell you Slash is one of the best theres ever been.

Go see Ron play, then tell me he has no emotion. He's not Slash, he's Bumblefoot Both guitar players are truly musicians, non better than the other just another flavor. I don't like new GnR but Ron Thal is a master of music. Peace

Actually, i doubt slash can play the things Bumblefoot plays, that might be your reason. Besides, in this video he also superimposed he vocal and bass parts while playing slashes part so to say "better" is purely opinion. Yes, slash preforms the song more properly, but this performance by Ron was musically far past the level of playing i'd ever expect so see from just a run of the mill class-A band. Then again you hear Sacred mother tongue and wouldn't expect such a powerhouse guitarist either

Hate to admit it but Chinese Democracy is better in every way than all of Slash's solo efforts combined. I like Miles Kennedy... in Alter Bridge, he fits it perfectly and One Day Remains is one of my favorite albums (Alter Bridge's debut album) But I feel as if Slash has sold out. 2 Signature Wahs for like 200 dollars Signature Octaver??? for about 200, signature les pauls out the ass for 2 thousand and a signature amp for 5000. :\ Still love GnR classic and current but thats shitty.
